Fresno, CA (April 24, 2017) The Salt Lake Bees banged out a season high nineteen hits, as they outlasted the Fresno Grizzlies 12-9 on Monday night. All nine members of the Bees’ starting lineup had at least one hit. Salt Lake took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a two run homer by Rey Navarro. In the third, they strung together four straight RBI singles by Navarro, Ramon Flores, Sherman Johnson and Tony Sanchez to extend their lead to 6-0. The Bees would add three more runs in the fourth to take a 9-0 lead. Fresno got on the board with one run in the fourth and one in the fifth before Salt Lake scored three more in the eighth to make it 12-3. Continue reading
Fresno, CA (April 23, 2017) The Salt Lake Bees had their eight game winning streak come to an end on Sunday, as they dropped a 5-2 decision to the Fresno Grizzlies. The game was tied at 2-2 in the sixth when Bees’ starter Manny Banuelos walked Tyler White. One out later, he issued a base on balls to Teoscar Hernandez. Sean Isaac, who was called up from class-A Inland Empire where he had not pitched since April 7th, worked the count full before Colin Moran lifted a 3-2 pitch over the wall in right center to put Fresno ahead to stay. Fresno, CA (April 22, 2017) The Salt Lake Bees rallied with two runs in the seventh inning to edge the Fresno Grizzlies 6-5 on Saturday for their eighth consecutive win. Down 5-4, Ramon Flores drew a one out walk. He advanced to second on a ground out and scored the tying run on a single to center by Sherman Johnson, who took second on the throw to the plate. Shane Robinson followed with a single to left to bring home Johnson with the eventual winning run. The eight game winning streak is the longest for Salt Lake since they won thirteen in a row in 2008. SALT LAKE CITY, UT (April 17, 2017) – Eric Young, Jr. matched a career-high with five hits as the Salt Lake Bees completed a three-game sweep of the Fresno Grizzlies winning 6-2 Monday night at Smith’s Ballpark.

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (April 16, 2017) – Ryan LaMarre drew a walk-off balk to give the Bees back-to-back walk-off wins, taking a 5-4 victory on Easter Sunday. The victory was the 151st walk-off win in Salt Lake history and the first by a walk-off balk. The Bees had not won on consecutive walk-off victories since April 21 and 22 of 2015, beating Fresno on walk-off errors both nights.
Salt Lake trailed 4-2 entering the bottom of the ninth when Shane Robinson led off the inning with a single. After a Kaleb Cowart fly out, Dustin Ackley drew a walk to put the tying run on base. Ryan LaMarre followed Ackley with a broken back single to score Robinson. The tying run then scored on an errant pickoff throw, moving LaMarre to second base. LaMarre then moved to third base on a wild pitch and with Rey Navarro at the plate Fresno pitcher Reymin Guduan made his move home before attempting a pick off to bring in the winning run.
