SALT LAKE CITY – The NCAA announced today the University of Utah has been selected to host first- and second-round games of the 2019 Men’s Basketball Tournament. The games will take place March 21 and 23 at Vivint Smart Home Arena, which is in the process of undergoing a major renovation.
The University of Utah is no stranger to hosting NCAA Tournament games. Ironically, 2019 will serve as the 40th anniversary of the 1979 NCAA Final Four that took place in the Jon M. Huntsman Center, featuring the title game “dream match-up” of Michigan State’s Magic Johnson and Indiana State’s Larry Bird. Continue reading

Minneapolis, MN (Saturday, April 1, 2017) – Real Salt Lake (0-3-2, 2 points, 10th West) couldn’t capitalize on an early MF Luke Mulholland goal as Minnesota ran rampant with four unanswered goals to take all three points at TCF Bank Stadium in the expansion team’s first-ever Major League Soccer victory.
RSL opened the scoring in the fourth minute through Mulholland’s first goal of the season. DF Chris Wingert attempted a cross that was cleared no further than the feet of the former Minnesota Star (2011), who needed only one touch to tuck the ball home into the far corner. Continue reading

SALT LAKE CITY – Senior wide receiver Tim Patrick caught an 18-yard touchdown with 16 second remaining to give the University of Utah football team a 31-27 victory over USC in its Pac-12 Conference opener Friday at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
Utah went 4-for-4 on fourth-down conversions and earned a 3-1 edge in turnover margin over USC. The Ute receiving corps combined for 209 receiving yards (15 catches) and two touchdowns. Continue reading

SALT LAKE CITY –The Utah football team recorded its first shutout since 2012 as the Utes won their season opener, 24-0, against Southern Utah on Thursday, Sept. 1, to open the 2016 season.
Utah’s last shutout was against Northern Colorado in 2012, a 41-0 win.
Utah led 3-0 after a field goal on its first drive of the game before a pair of late-second quarter touchdowns gave Utah a 17-0 halftime lead. Utah increased its lead to 24-0 after a fourth-quarter score.
