SALT LAKE CITY, UT (April 17, 2017) – Eric Young, Jr. matched a career-high with five hits as the Salt Lake Bees completed a three-game sweep of the Fresno Grizzlies winning 6-2 Monday night at Smith’s Ballpark.

Bees Beat Fresno Grizzlies 5-4 for Back to Back Wins

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (April 16, 2017) – Ryan LaMarre drew a walk-off balk to give the Bees back-to-back walk-off wins, taking a 5-4 victory on Easter Sunday. The victory was the 151st walk-off win in Salt Lake history and the first by a walk-off balk. The Bees had not won on consecutive walk-off victories since April 21 and 22 of 2015, beating Fresno on walk-off errors both nights.

Salt Lake trailed 4-2 entering the bottom of the ninth when Shane Robinson led off the inning with a single. After a Kaleb Cowart fly out, Dustin Ackley drew a walk to put the tying run on base. Ryan LaMarre followed Ackley with a broken back single to score Robinson. The tying run then scored on an errant pickoff throw, moving LaMarre to second base. LaMarre then moved to third base on a wild pitch and with Rey Navarro at the plate Fresno pitcher Reymin Guduan made his move home before attempting a pick off to bring in the winning run. SALT LAKE CITY, UT (April 15, 2017) – The Salt Lake Bees walked-off the Fresno Grizzlies on a bases loaded base on balls, earning a 6-5 win at Smith’s Ballpark on Jackie Robinson night.

With the score tied at 5 in the 10th inning, Eric Young Jr. led off with a single to left field. Young then stole second to put the winning run in scoring position. Fresno pitcher Jordan Jankowski then issued walks to Shane Robinson and Dustin Ackley to load the bases for Ryan LaMarre, who would watch a 3-2 pitch sail by for a bases loaded walk to earn the victory for the Bees. The victory is the Bees first walk-off walk since May 14, 2010 vs. Round Rock and the first walk-off victory without the benefit of a hit since winning on a walk-off error on back-to-back nights against Fresno on April 21 and 22, 2015. SALT LAKE CITY, UT (April 14, 2017) – Salt Lake scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth to take a 10-8 lead, but the Sacramento River Cats struck for four of their own in the top of the ninth and held on for a 12-10 win Friday night at Smith’s Ballpark.

Salt Lake Bees Defeat Sacramento River Cats 4-3

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (April 13, 2017) – On a very windy Thursday night at Smith’s Ballpark, the Salt Lake Bees defeated the Sacramento River Cats 4-3. The Bees bats were hot from the start against River Cats starting pitcher Michael Roth, with eight of the Bees’ starting nine reaching base. Salt Lake opened the scoring in the second when a single from Nolan Fontana was followed by an RBI double from Tony Sanchez to put the Bees on top. Matt Williams continued the rally with a groundball off the glove of Orlando Calixte into left field. Eric Young Jr. then singled into right field, plating Ramon Flores to cap a three-run second inning. Rey Navarro hit a deep left-center sac fly off of Kraig Sitton to bring Kaleb Cowart home, bringing the score 4-0 in the fifth to finish the scoring for the Bees. Continue reading
