America First Field, Sandy, UT – Danny Musovski scores 2 goes in 2 minutes to lead his club to an epic comeback against Liga MX side Leon. Leon controlled the first half of play and was able to go up early with a goal from Ivan Moreno and hold on to the lead for most of the match. Musovski leveled the score in the 69th minute and put his club on top in the 71st. Chicho put the match out of reach with his own goal in the 81st minute.
Leon seemed in control to start the match. It was difficult for RSL to match the pace from Leon and just couldn’t find a good rhythm against the home side Leon.
The second half was a different tale as it seemed that the Claret and Cobalt had finally found the way to match the intensity on the pitch. The play was back and forth with great efforts at both ends until Danny Musovski leveled the score in the 69th minute. With a weakness finally being exploited Musovski followed up his performance just 2 minutes later earning a brace in the 71st minute with the game winning goal. After the second goal it just didn’t seem like Leon could get back to their earlier form and Chicho took advantage of it in the 81st minute to put the match out of reach and ensure an RSL win and moved them on to the round of 16 where they will meet LAFC on August 8.
