SALT LAKE CITY (August 14, 2016) – The Salt Lake Bees dropped game three of the four game series to Round Rock Sunday evening by a score of 6 to 2. Chris Jones got the start on the mound for the Bees, delivering seven innings while striking out six. The left-hander scattered six hits and allowed five runs. Jones put up four scoreless innings before allowing five in the in the top of the fifth. Back-to-back doubles by Hanser Alberto and Brett Nicholas gave the Express all the runs would need. The loss sends the Bees to 55-64 on the season and 28-31 at Smith’s Ballpark.

Kaleb Cowart led the way for the Salt Lake offense going 3-4 with two doubles and a homerun. Cowart’s blast in the bottom of the fourth inning traveled an estimated 420 feet ricocheting off the scoreboard. Cowart leads all Salt Lake players with nine homeruns on the season. As a team, Salt Lake has it 13 homeruns in the month of August, tying June for their best homerun month of the season still with 17 games left to play. The Bees have hit 11 of their August homeruns at Smith’s Ballpark.
Former three-time World Series champion and two-time Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum will take the mound for the Bees tomorrow night.
