Thalmann played well in the goal for Switzerland for the first half, but right after the second half began all changed.  With the amount of pressure that the US women played the entire length of the field it felt like that first goal would come at any time.  The floodgates opened just 49 seconds into the second half Lynn Williams, who was substituted in at the half for her first cap, scored her first goal for the her first cap scored her first goal.

Another substitute Christen Press was the next to make her mark when she put one in the net in the 69th minute of play.
