RSL draws with Columbus in hotly contested match

Chicho takes a shot to the head

America First Field, Sandy, UT – RSL had their chances but couldn’t capitalize on their chances and split the points with Columbus. With Columbus resting some of their starters after their Champions League match it looked like the home club might have a chance to grab a win and they took plenty of shots but with 9 yellow cards given out it didn’t look like the refs wanted to give anyone the chance to take over the match.

Matt Crooks on the attack

Early in the match Evan Bush went down and out after it looked like he was taken out by his own player and then was ill prepared for the follow through from Diego Luna. Nicholas Hagen came in and finished the night with an impressive 8 saves.

Andres Gomez prepares for a shot

It looked like the Claret and Cobalt might have an edge in the 85th minute when a foul was called in the box but after a quick huddle it was decided that RSL was offsides on the play.

RSL is on the road the next two weeks before returning back home.
