Rio Tinto Stadium, Sandy, UT – Real Salt Lake with another draw that feels like a loss against a very aggressive Montreal Impact club. This is the first time these clubs have met up this year and with Montreal never able to get 3 points at Rio Tinto Stadium it felt like RSL would be able to start to build some momentum as they head closer to the MLS playoffs.
The home club was the first to see the back of the net after he was fouled by Ken Krolicki in the 26th minute and sent the ball to the right of Evan Bush. The intensity and physcial play ticked up a notch after that but the Impact were unable to respond unti Jukka Raitala hammered the ball out of reach for Nick Rimando and leveled the score. Niether club was able to get the advantage again and they both walk away with 1 point.

It was a scappy affair tonight with plenty of very physical play, in spite of that Chris Penso elected to keep clear of his pockets and didn’t issue any yellow cards until the 65th minute. The only other card came in the 74th minute when Corey Baird was given a yellow card for dangerous play when he challenged Evan Bush for the ball after an RSL attempt.
