Zions Bank Stadium, Herriman, UT – On what ended up being a slightly chilly night by the end of the match neither club could find a way to get the ball in the net and ended the night with a draw.
After today’s early high scoring affair between the Utah Royals and the Houston Dash that ended in a 3-3 draw tonight’s match was between OL Reign and Sky Blue was a very different type of match. With both clubs fairly matched the ball saw lots of horizontal movement with only a few real threats on the goal at either end in the first 45 minutes of play.
One substitution was made at the half with Elizabeth Eddy coming in for Paige Monaghan for Sky Blue but it was OL Reign that came out with more energy to start the second half with several good attempts on goal early in the half. After both clubs made mass substitutions late in the games the tempo picked up. Sky Blue had a their share of chances as well with a number of runs late in the match but neither club could find a way to finish and a 0-0 draw is where we stood when the final whistle blew.
