Salt Lake City – The Utah big three pulled through as the Utes struggled to find their shot and put away the pesky Bobcats of Texas State. Brandon Taylor scored 18 points while Jordan Loveridge contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead Utah to a 69-50 victory over Texas State on Thursday night. The output for Loveridge was his fifth double-double of the season. Delon Wright added 13 points for the Utes who now go 10-1 for the season with their lone loss coming on the road to Boise State. The Utes used strong defense to keep the game close while the Utes gathered themselves together holding the Bobcats to just 38.3 percent shooting (18-of-47) and forced a total of 15 turnovers. Texas State shot just 18.2 percent (2-of-11) from beyond the arc.
The Bobcats were lead by Emani Gant who scored 16 points keeping the game close as Utah came out very sluggish and unmotivated until late in the second half. Corey Stern was the only other Bobcat to score in double digits with 11 while also leading the team in rebounds at 7.
