Red Bull Racing’s Mark Webber

The young German driver, who has already claimed the Formula One™ World Champion drivers’ title for the 2013 season, turned in a sizzling lap time of 1:36.338 to claim pole position for the Nov. 17 Austin Grand Prix.  Vettel and his support team were clearly enjoying the qualifying rounds. At one point, one of his engineers used the phrase “shake-and-bake” over the radio—a reference to the character of “Ricky Bobby” in the popular American motorsports comedy Talladega Nights.

Vettel’s teammate Mark Webber finished only one-tenth of a second behind, making it an all-Red Bull front row. Frenchman Romain Grosjean of the Lotus F1 Team rounded out the top three spots on Sunday’s starting grid.
