Real Salt Lake looked a lot like the pre-Cassar club as they looked to be playing more of possession game then we have seen the last couple of years.  There was no spark in the Claret and Cobalt during the first 45 minutes of the match while they possessed the ball over 60% of the time the possession didn’t turn into results.

Montreal didn’t have a great night either, but in the 8th minute Laurent Ciman took a free kick in the attacking half that bounced off Nick Rimando and Harry Shipp was in the right place and with Nick now out of position he put Montreal up 1-0 over RSL.

RSL tried to get the spark back as the second half started by bringing in Luke Mulholland for Omar Holness.  The result was a much more energetic Real side for the second 45 minutes, with RSL taking 9 shots on goal versus the 3 they took the in the first half at the same time they limited Montreal to just one shot.

Late in the second half Demar Philips and Joao Plata drover hard into the box and drew a penalty on Calum Mallace, and Ricardo Salazar pointed to the spot.  Yura Movsisyan who was the brightest spot on the pitch for the home club took the shot and leveled the score when he beat Evan Bush and got the back of the net in the 79th minute.

With the draw RSL remains in 3rd place in the west and Coach Cassar is hopeful an away game in Vancouver will provide a little spark to the club.
