RSL Selects Ryan Neil in MLS Superdraft

Sandy, UT – RSL Selects Ryan Neil With 18th Pick in MLS Superdraft who was formally with the Cal Bears of the PAC-12.

Ryan Neil is new to the defender roll and was previously a right side midfielder.  The transition helped him understand what the midfielder’s liked to do and where they liked the ball put and was an easy transition for him.

RSL selects Ryan Neil as he has great speed, great service and crossing skills, and was good on the attacking side of the ball originally playing as a midfielder.

Ryan Neil grew up in Southern California and played at Cal so he has spent most of his life on the west coast and was a big fan of the LA Galaxy but his sister lives here in Salt Lake City and is a big fan of Real Salt Lake.   Lots of guys on the RSL squad that Ryan looks up to and looks forward to learning from Kyle Beckerman and is excited for this opportunity.
