Landon Donovan and Galaxy Edge Revolution to Capture MLS Cup

Robbie Keane has added an MLS Cup MVP to his trophy case, to go along with his 2014 MLS MVP award and three titles in four years with the LA Galaxy.

Keane, the Galaxy’s captain, netted the winner for his side in the 111th minute of the game, slotting home calmly from a ball over the top to give his team a 2-1 lead that it would never relinquish.

The Galaxy had taken the lead through Gyasi Zardes early in the second half before a Chris Tierney goal sent the match into extra time.

Keane’s well-timed run was picked out by Marcelo Sarvas, with Tierney this time guilty of holding the striker onside. Keane fired his first touch home, with the onrushing Bobby Shuttleworth beaten as he tried to close the angle.
