Jazz Takedown the Bucks at Home

Salt Lake City – A second home victory in a row for the Utah Jazz as they get past the Milwaukee Bucks 96-87 tonight at Energy Solutions Arena. The game featured the two teams with the worst records in the NBA, Milwaukee at 7-24 and Utah at 10-24 entering the game.

jazz_bucks_20140102Gordon Hayward broke his dry spell and splashed in with 22 points for the victory. Center Derrick Favors made 21 points and added 11 rebounds for the Jazz.

Milwaukee struggled to find consistent offense but were lead by Larry Sanders 16 points and 8 rebounds, also Luke Ridnour had 12 points and 8 assists. Bench player Gary Neal contributed 11.

The Jazz had a 15 point lead at one point but was whittled down to 3 when Sanders made a layup to cap a 7-0 run to make the score 83-80 with 3:42 left in the game. But the determined Jazz made a late run of their own and pushed the lead back up to 9 when the final buzzard sounded.

Utah travels to Los Angeles tomorrow night to face the Lakers for the second time this season and whom they beat a week ago. Lakers most likely will be looking to even the score. The complete schedule for all Utah Sporting News content can be viewed on our calendar.
