A tight one all the way, but the Jazz pullout the win 111-105 over the New Orleans Pelicans. That’s right, the Pelicans.
Tonight, John Lucas III got the start over Alec Burks but was a non factor shooting 0-7 and making 1-1 free throws. Coming off the bench, Jazz man Marvin Williams contributed 12 points and 9 rebounds along with Burks who had 7 points, 3 rebounds. The four regular starters did well scoring in double digits, with Gordon Hayward again leading the way at 27 points and 10 assists. A productive night for the entire team.
New Orleans, formerly the Hornets, played the second of their back to back in Utah after losing to Los Angeles the night before and drop their third straight moving to 3-6 on the season. Pelicans forward Anthony Davis lead all scorers with 29 points and 15 rebounds. Jazz go to 1-8 and host San Antonio Friday.
