Tom Hacket Wins Ray Guy Award

University of Utah punter Tom Hacket won the 2014 Ray Guy Award for the best punter in college football Thursday December 11th on ESPN.

The Junior punter from Australia is the first Utah player to win a National College Football Awards Association honor. Hackett has also earned first-team all Pac-12 honors and been named to All American teams by CBS, USA Today and SB Nation. Hackett is the first Pac-12 punter to win the Ray Guy Award.

Hacket led the nation with 35 punts inside the 20 yard line and 19 punts inside the 10, putting 45.5 percent of his punts inside the opponent’s 20 yard line total. He ranked No. 2 nationally with 47.0 yards per punt, and he had 3,619 punt yards on the year to set a new school record.
