SALT LAKE CITY (May 11, 2017) – Bo Way matched a career-high with three runs batted in as the Salt Lake Bees won the series opener against the Iowa Cubs, 6-1, Thursday night at Smith’s Ballpark.

Parker Bridwell (1-0) earned the victory in his Bees debut and first career Triple-A start, allowing two hits over five shutout innings and striking out seven. The Bees quickly got Bridwell some run support in the bottom of the first when Carlos Perez launched a two-run homer down the left field line. Way’s squeeze bunt in the second extended Salt Lake’s lead to 3-0, and his two-run single in the fourth gave the Bees a 6-0 cushion.

Cron continued his rehab assignment, collecting two doubles in four trips to the plate.
